The eligibility depends on the type of Student Pass you apply for. Generally, in order to qualify for the Singapore Study Visa, you would be mandated to meet the following eligibility criteria:

International students are not allowed to begin a course with a Visit Visa.

International students

course/program into an approved ILH in Singapore. Part-time, evening and
weekend courses/programs do not qualify.
·
Students are exempt from

What is the process to apply for a Singapore
Study
Visa 2023?
You can apply for a
Singapore Study Visa up to 2 months before your date of arrival in
Singapore.
STEP 1: Get accepted at an Institute of Higher
Learning (IHL). You must enroll in an IHL approved by the Singaporean
authorities to be eligible for a Student Pass.
STEP 2: If eligible, all international students
must apply for their Student Pass through the Student’s Pass Online Application
System (SOLAR) online service on the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority
(ICA) website.
STEP 3: Once registered, the chosen IHL will send over a
personalized application number that you can use to access SOLAR.
STEP 4: Upon receiving your application reference
number, log in to SOLAR and complete the application. Here, you need to fill
out what’s known as the eForm16. Make sure to take a copy of the completed
forms, as international students applying for a Singapore Study Visa need to
present this to the ICA center in Singapore.
STEP 5: Pay the standardized Singapore Study Visa
fee before submitting your application.
STEP 6: Await a decision on your application.
Singapore Study Visa processing time is usually 2 weeks.
STEP 7: If successful, receive an In-Principle
Approval (IPA) letter. The IPA acts as your temporary Student Pass and grants
entry into Singapore.
STEP 8: Upon showcasing your IPA to officials at
the port of entry in Singapore, you will be issued a Visit Pass.
STEP 9: Once you’ve arrived in Singapore, you’ll
need to collect your official Student Pass from the ICA center. At this step,
you’ll be asked to submit the above-mentioned documents.
